The Financial Aid office is currently taking applications for departmental scholarships to be awarded in the 2011-2012 school year. Communication students take note: $12,960 of scholarships were awarded to theater and journalism students last year, and more money is available for 2011-2012. You Must Apply Between September 1, 2010 And January 15, 2011 to be considered.

HESTEC and the College of Arts and Humanities presents Rodrigo Rodriguez on “Running a Successful Production Company With The Incorporation of 21st Century Technology” at 4:00 pm on September 29, 2010.

All RGV high school journalism advisers and their student editors are invited to UTPA for a free half-day journalism/yearbook workshop. Sessions will include: Design and photography, yearbook production, and print/editorial. Workshops will be conducted by area professionals, UTPA journalism faculty members and UTPA Student Publications editorial staff.

In addition, there will be one-on-one critiques available, so mail in samples of publications.

Certificates of participation for all attendees will be awarded.
