On Saturday, April 14th 2012, between the hours of 11:00 pm to Sunday, April 15th at 5:00 am, Blackboard will be doing a service restart of our Blackboard site. We anticipate less than one hour of service interruption during this maintenance window. The Center for Online Learning, Teaching and Technology will be hosting Bill Joyce from Turning Technologies on April 24, 2012. Mr. Joyce will be providing Informational Demos and Training for the Turning Technologies Response cards (clickers). We are having two informational sessions for faculty wishing to get information about the Turning Technologies student response cards and two training sessions for instructors who already use the response cards in their classes. We experienced an unexpected interruption in service Wednesday night, April 12th from 11:09 pm until 1:33am. Blackboard worked to correct the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Students, if you were not able to complete an assessment or turn in an assignment, please contact your instructor who will notify you what options are available to you. SafeAssign Performance Advisory: Clients may experience turnaround times for papers submitted at 3-5 days from the time of submission. We have not been officially warned of extreme delays, but our experience from the past two semesters provide evidence that this is a possibility for the end of the Spring 2012 semester.

At the end of the semester, delays are due to the rate of papers being submitted exceeding the speed with which SafeAssign can process papers. Submissions are processed in a first-in, first-out order. If you have any questions concerning this, please contact our help desk at 956-665-5327 or at colthelp@utpa.edu.

The myUTPA portal at my.utpa.edu will be down for maintenance starting March 14th, Wednesday, at 5:00 p.m. through March 16th, Friday, at 5:00 p.m. Alternate links to log in to services such as Blackboard and ASSIST will be provided on the my.utpa.edu homepage during this downtime.

We have just been informed that maintenance at one of the datacenters where blackboard is housed will occur tomorrow morning between the hours of 1:00AM – 5:00AM on March 9th 2012. We aren’t expected to have any downtime within those hours however should one occur we are aware of the situation and apologize for any inconveniences.

Blackboard services were restored at 3:00pm. The Blackboard Learning Management System was down for approximately 30 minutes. If you experienced issues accessing Blackboard after 3:00pm on March 6, 2012, please contact our help desk at 956-665-5327 or via email at colthelp@upa.edu.

The Blackboard Learning Management System became unavailable around 2:30pmon March 6, 2012. Users will not be able to connect to Blackboard until services are restored. We will update our blog with news as it becomes available.

Blackboard Learn is not affected by this issue.
